General Terms and Conditions
These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter – the Terms) define the procedure and conditions for the provision of services by the hotel Lajos, operated by UAB "Lajos", located at B. Sruogos 5, Birštonas (hereinafter – the Hotel).
BOOKING PROCEDURE AND CONFIRMATION
- Reservations for the Hotel’s services must be submitted via the hotel reservation system at www.book.lajos.lt, through other platforms, by email at book@lajos.lt, by phone, or in person at the Hotel’s front desk.
- When submitting a reservation, the client must specify the number of arriving guests, their names and surnames, the desired room or rental space category, arrival and departure dates, other requested services, and the preferred payment method.
If the Hotel has entered into a cooperation agreement with an individual or legal entity, the cooperation agreement code or number must be provided with the reservation.
- Upon receiving a reservation through the website, other platforms, email, or at the reception, the Hotel confirms the service prices and conditions: provides detailed information on the requested services, their prices, duration, required advance payment or deposit, payment deadline, cancellation conditions, and other relevant details.
- The Hotel reserves the right to refuse entry to undesirable individuals based on internal rules and/or applicable legal regulations.
ADVANCE PAYMENT TERMS
- The client must pay the reservation invoice no later than 24 hours before arrival at the Hotel.
- Depending on the room category, rooms can accommodate 1 to 6 persons. If requested, an extra bed may be provided for an additional fee, depending on availability.
- Advance reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a reservation fee equal to 100 percent of the total stay value (deposit). In exceptional cases, the deposit may differ.
In case of reservation cancellation, shortening, or no-show with less than 24 hours before arrival, a cancellation fee of 100% of the total order value applies.
- The agreement for Hotel services is considered concluded when the Hotel receives and confirms the reservation in writing. This agreement supersedes any prior arrangements and obligates both parties to comply.
- If any clause of the Hotel service agreement is found invalid or renegotiated, the remaining clauses and the agreement remain in effect.
- The reservation is guaranteed upon payment as specified in the reservation confirmation. The reservation can be guaranteed via credit card, prepayment, or a contract with the Hotel.
CHECK-IN AND ACCOMMODATION POLICY
- Upon registration, the guest completes a “Guest Registration Card” indicating name, surname, date of birth, ID document name and number, country, city, phone number, email address, name and surname of accompanying adult, arrival and departure dates, number of accompanying minors, indicates whether they arrived via travel agency, and signs. These requirements are approved by the Law on Tourism of the Republic of Lithuania.
- During registration, the hotel administrator:
- To verify the accuracy of the information provided by the guest and to ensure payment means and validity, requests the guest to present a valid ID and the credit card used for guaranteeing or prepaying the reservation, and performs a card verification procedure based on bank recommendations.
- Introduces the guest to the Hotel’s Privacy Policy and these “Lajos Hotel Internal Rules.”
Provides information on available Hotel services, current offers, restaurant and hotel opening hours.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES
Guests may check in from 15:00 on the day of arrival.
Guests must check out by 12:00 on the day of departure.
If the guest wishes to depart later than 12:00, they must inform the reception to possibly extend the stay and key validity.
Late departure terms: check-out by 14:00 – €30; by 18:00 – 50% of the daily rate; after 18:00 – 100% of the daily rate.
PRICES AND PAYMENTS
- Service prices (including VAT), payment procedures, and terms are outlined in cooperation agreements, individual offers, reservation confirmations, on the website www.lajos.lt, in reservation systems, and other official Hotel materials. Room prices include breakfast (served weekdays 08:00–10:00, weekends 08:00–11:00; times may be adjusted).
- Payment can be made in cash, by credit card, or by bank transfer.
Unless agreed otherwise, payment for services must be made before arrival. In case of a service contract or individual agreement, payment terms stated in the reservation confirmation apply.
- Confirmed reservations are non-refundable if the client does not use the services and does not cancel according to the agreement.
- The deposit amount and advance payment terms are specified in the agreement, offers, and/or reservation confirmation or advance invoice.
- Prices stated in the reservation confirmation can only be changed by written agreement.
- If more guests stay than indicated, an extra fee applies for each additional guest.
- Guests staying less than one Hotel day (21 hours) are charged a full day.
- If a guest fails to vacate the room on time and cannot be contacted or refuses to pay, the Hotel has the right to move belongings to a secure storage area.
- If a guest causes damage or leaves unpaid, the Hotel may charge the guest’s provided card after notifying them via the contact details on the registration card.
LIABILITY AND STORAGE
- Guests must report lost, missing, or damaged items to Hotel staff.
- In-room safes are available but the Hotel is not responsible for their contents.
- The Hotel is not liable for loss due to guest negligence, force majeure, or item characteristics.
- The Hotel’s parking lot is not guarded; the Hotel is not liable for vehicles or items left inside.
- Found items will be stored for 1 month after check-out.
- Upon written request, stored items may be shipped at the guest’s expense.
- Guests must maintain cleanliness and take care of furnishings and equipment.
- Guests must use items properly, report malfunctions, and cover damages caused.
- Guests who damage Hotel property must compensate as assessed by Hotel staff.
- Guests are liable for any damage caused by themselves or their guests.
- Items in rooms and Hotel areas are Hotel property and may not be taken, except for disposable hygiene items.
FORCE MAJEURE
Liability under force majeure is governed by Article 6.212 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania.
HOTEL RIGHTS AND DUTIES. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
- The Hotel provides accommodation, catering, conference, and event services per Lithuanian law.
- Security cameras are installed in shared and exterior areas.
- Reception is open 09:00–21:00, 7 days/week. For urgent matters after hours, call +370 626 15000. Housekeeping operates daily from 08:00 to 17:00.
- Rooms, furniture, and linens must be clean and orderly. Cleaning follows public health hygiene standards.
- The Hotel is not responsible for lost or damaged items in shared areas, rooms, the restaurant, etc.
- Breakfast is served weekdays 08:00–10:00, weekends 08:00–11:00 in the restaurant or another designated area.
- Towels and robes are replaced upon request or when left on the floor. Bedding is changed every third day or upon request.
- Rooms marked “Do Not Disturb” are not cleaned.
- Room temperature must be no lower than +18°C during the heating season.
- Staff may perform minor repairs without disturbing guests.
- Staff may enter rooms to ensure order and safety.
- Guests repeatedly violating rules after a warning may be evicted. No refund applies; guest must pay for services used.
- The Hotel may unilaterally relocate guests to another room or facility of equal or higher standard.
- Due to technical or unforeseen reasons, some services may be temporarily unavailable.
OTHER CONDITIONS
Guests must:
- Strictly follow fire safety rules.
- Ensure taps are closed, lights and TV off, windows shut, and door locked when leaving.
- Settle bills and return keys upon departure.
PROHIBITED:
- Making noise from 23:00 to 08:00 (e.g., loud music, instruments, shouting). Violators are subject to legal liability.
- Leaving minors under 14 unattended.
- Bringing unauthorized persons without informing the Hotel.
- Disrupting other guests or organizing photoshoots without approval.
- Smoking in rooms, restaurant, SPA, or non-smoking areas. Violation: €100 fine.
- Moving furniture or altering room interiors.
- Setting off fireworks.
- Littering in or around the Hotel.
- Bringing dangerous items, weapons, or hazardous materials.
- Using third-party catering or consuming outside beverages during events without approval.
- Guests in bathrobes are not allowed in the restaurant.
- Guests are responsible for their own safety when using services.
- Children under 16 may only use facilities with adult supervision. Adults are responsible for minors.
- Lost or damaged key cards incur a €20 fee.
- If a guest violates their service agreement or misuses accommodation/event spaces, the Hotel may unilaterally terminate the agreement and charge 100% of the reservation value.
- All information learned during cooperation is confidential and may not be disclosed to third parties without written consent unless required by law.
- The Hotel collects, processes, and stores personal data in accordance with Lithuanian laws and the GDPR. The Privacy Policy is available at the reception and www.lajos.lt.
- The Privacy Policy is based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data (ADTAĮ), and related legislation. Terms are defined as per GDPR and ADTAĮ.
- Disputes must be resolved through negotiation. If unresolved, disputes are settled per Lithuanian law.
- Complaints may be submitted to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (Vilniaus str. 25, 01402 Vilnius, email: tarnyba@vvtat.lt, phone no.: +370 5 262 67 51, website: www.vvtat.lt), its regional divisions, or via an electronic complaint form.
